Rosco Gets A Bath!

The kids are so amused by what Rosco looks like when he is wet from a bath. Probably because he is like half the size wet. So last night I took some wet and dry pictures to show everyone. Trevor wanted me to put them on the blog... he is getting obsessed with seeing stuff on here.

This is the poor puppy wanting to get out of the tub. He hates being wet.. probably cuz he has no fat and is always shivering!

I was just trying to show you how small he still is. This is his shampoo bottle he is standing by.

And finally, and after picture. He is standing by one of those mugs you get from the hospitals. that is how tall he is. I think he is probably 2 pounds now. Maybe a little more.... I can't tell. He is definantly all fluff though!

The first week of school

Trevor made it through the first week of school! It has been a difficult adjustment for him, but he is going to make it. He has been tired and pretty much on overload when he gets home. I have no idea what goes on there, since he tells me to leave him alone when I ask how school was. He came home with an untouched breakfast and lunch mon-thursday, but yesterday looked like he finally picked at his food. So I guess that is improvement! He will only go one day next week because of the holiday and then our trip. So it is going to be awhile yet until he gets adjusted totally. But it has been nice to have some peace and quiet around here. It will be even better when Jordan starts school too!

Josh is doing about the same. It's hard to believe he will be 15 months on monday! He has had weekly weight checks and has stayed at 20lb 4oz on his therapist scale for three weeks. He lost a half pound three weeks ago, but so far has at least maintained his weight for now. He is not even on the charts anymore for weight, but hopefully we can get him to gain some soon. His eating is about the same, hit and miss. He eats OK some days, other days he fights and cries alot. He has been having some breakthrough reflux problems the past week or so, and possible ear problems as well. I have an appt with his Pediatrician on Tuesday so we'll see how how ears are then. His therapist is coming to that appt with me to discuss some different treatment options with his Dr. He has such an awesome therapist! We are so blessed to have her! And also on a side note, he will be starting speech therapy the week after we get back. I just hope he learns to walk soon so we can be done with physical therapy. Three therapists is alot for a little guy!

So that is how we are doing. I will post some pictures of our trip and some yellowstone pictures when I get back next weekend!

Man Time!!!

Today Scott took Jordan fishing. Whenever they go fishing or something, Jordan has started calling it 'Man Time'. Since he has kinda been lost in the mix of our crazy lives lately, I thought he would be so excited. Of course he was. So here is a couple pictures Scott took of the fish Jordan helped catch. Not my thing... but he LOVED it!

First day of School!!

Finally! The first day of school has arrived!

It was a crazy morning with a small mishap with the bus, but we made it! I ended up taking Trevor to school 5 minutes late, but his class was still outside waiting for the bus Trevor will be riding tomorrow. So it was OK. They got him on the wrong bus list, so he didn't get picked up today. But we got it all worked out with his bus driver from the last two years, Tad.

He was really excited to go meet his new friends, and see some old ones from his class last year. Today and the next two days are short days, so that should help him ease into it. And it was great to have less fighting today.

Room Changes!!

After much pondering the last couple weeks, I decided to make some bedroom changes around here. Josh moved into the boys' bedroom and Trevor moved into Josh's room.

Trevor and Jordan were awake until midnight many times, and when I finally got smart enough to put Jordan to bed first, Trevor would still wake him up to play when he went to bed. After days of cranky children from lack of sleep, I decided enough was enough. So saturday night I did the switch around. It has been a little bit of adjustment, but all in all a MUCH better arrangement. Last night the kids were all asleep by 830... so we had success!

Here is the room that Jordan and Josh are sharing now. We have left the top bunk on for now, but may take it down if it poses too much of a climbing hazard.

And Trevor's new room. We never thought we could fit a twin bed in this small room/den. But we did it!!! Trevor is very happy to have a room to himself where the little boys aren't allowed to mess up his stuff. Now I just need to finish changing some stuff around and things will be good!

GIRLS DAY!!!

It was a girls day today here! I watched my neice, Aliyah, and we had some fun! She is such a cutie and lot's of fun. We sang songs, danced and played. It was a good relaxing time for me, and I am so glad I got to spend some time with her.

I only have two neices so far. One of them, Kyrie, lives in Philly now, so I don't get that "girl" time as much. With two nephews and three sons... it's mostly all boys around here! So any chance I get to have some fun with my neices is exciting for me!
What a doll, huh? She is so much fun!
All in all, it was a fun, wonderful day for us here. What a good way to end our last week of summer! Now it's time to get into school mode for us here!

Trevor and Rosco

Here is a couple pictures of Trevor and Rosco I took today. He was trying to show off his hole in his mouth (where he lost his tooth) and the same time I was taking these. So that is the weird smiles and facial expressions!

Josh and Grandpa

Just thought I would post this picture I took a couple days ago. Josh loves his grandpa and everytime he sees my dad he makes a mad dash for him. It's totally cute and makes me laugh!

Some Rare Tender Moments

Since it seems like we don't always have tender moments going on around our house, I couldn't resist taking and posting these pictures!

Scott had a long day today that started at 3am. He had to do a bunch of stuff since this was the first day of being transferred to another store. So he came home pretty tired.

He was not sure when we decided on getting a maltese he was going to like the puppy. I told him to just give him a chance and he would be surprised. He has been very happy that he let me choose this time around, since we have gotten a wonderful puppy. He came home from work today and played with Rosco on the floor. Before I knew it.. they were both asleep. It was so cute!

So of course I had to post the pictures! It's not very often you see Scott in a tender moment!

Sorry this one is so blurry. I was trying to not wake them up since I need Scott to help me get the kids to bed tonight and he is very tired. So he got a good nap and so did Rosco!!!

Some new things around here....

Well we have had some new changes agian around here. It starts with our newest addition to the family. We found a puppy for a great deal and since Trevor starts school soon, we thought we should go ahead and get it all done now.

So meet Rosco, our new maltese puppy! I think he weighs about one pound, he is all fluff. Trevor named him and was very set on the name Rosco. He is a playful little cute thing and so far is doing great. No accidents yet he went right on the puppy pad. He will be getting his shots shortly so we can start potty training him for outside.

Here is Trevor with Rosco. He wants to hold him all the time and is in heaven.

Sorry this picture is so blurry. It was hard to get a picture of him close up since he was wiggling.

And one more shot of the cute little puppy. We are very happy with him!

And the last of our news..... Trevor lost his first tooth!!! He had it loose for quite some time, but wasn't willing to let anyone help him get it out. But it finally came out and he was so happy. He was so excited over the tooth fairy coming and it was fun to see him getting so involved in something. We can't believe how big he is getting!!!

Some Family Updates..

I thought that I would just give some updates on our family....

I sent out an email a couple days ago about finding a new home for our dog Gracie to those of you who live in Utah. So if you got the email you already knew about that. We decided after talking to some dog trainers that we weren't the right owners for her. She really needs a yard, and no matter how much training we do, that fact won't change. So we talked to the kids and told them the plan and they were OK with it. We found a wonderful home for her on tuesday and everything worked out very well. She has a new family with older kids... 10-14 age and a big yard. They were in love with her and we were happy to see her find a wonderful family. We will be getting a new puppy in a month (after we get back from vacation) and we have done some research and will be getting a very small indoor dog that doesn't need a yard. Trevor is the reason we got a dog in the first place so we want a dog he can take places with us.

Now a little side note about Scott. He found out today he is being transfered down to the Carl's Jr in Bountiful. He needs to be closer to the Regional Director to begin some new opportunities for him.

Now an update on Josh. About the time we did his swallow study, we also did some new changes in position and such for eating with him. He has done remarkably better with keeping his food down, and not gagging after every bite. His therapist says that even though his swallow study did not go well and was not informative, this backs up what she thought has been his problem. So we are so excited to see some improvement with this. We also have taken him off all thin liquids, except formula. I have this stuff called "Thick-It" that you stir into liquids to make them thicker. So he now has like a nector consistancy for his liquid intake. He has done SO much better! So we basically have come to the conclusion that he cannot tolerate or manage thin liquids because of his poor motor skill development. We still are not sure at this point whether to pursue any further testing to see if he has a reason behind his poor motor skill development. We don't like to put him through more than he has too, plus we still have his reflux problem to have taken care of in October down at Primary Childrens Medical Center. So since that will probably require some testing, we are holding off on any further tests. But we are making progress with his gagging and that is truly exciting. He has a long way to go before we can even begin textures and table food, but every small step forward is so exciting for us.

This is his high chair with the wedge in it to correctly position him for eating.
This is what he looks like in his high chair... very straight back and leaning slightly forward.
He doesn't seem to mind that he is very straight up and can't lean back with his back against the high chair any longer. It sure has been a great thing to not have to fight him over it.

So that is just a little update on the family. We have been really busy this past few days getting some last minute summer fun in before school starts. We are taking our family vacation on Sept 3-6. We will have to pull the kids out of school, but we couldn't make it work any other time. It will be nice to have something fun to look forward to.
