The light at the end of the tunnel!

Well I figured since I took some pictures of the kids last night, I better get them on here. They are finally feeling better and we are getting back into the swing of things. After yet another trip to the Dr this past monday for Trevor (who had a double ear infection AGAIN, and was also having some asthma attacks), we are finally in the clear. Yea!!!! It's about time! I am trying to get things going again, and Trevor adjusted back to the school routine.

I guess you can call these two my clone children. I can't believe how much Josh is looking like Trevor. He is built like him, he is having some of the same issues that he did. It's amazing!

I took this last night after we did hair cuts. I didn't meant to cut Josh's hair this short, but we had a little oops. I have to keep his hair short for now anyway so the Dr can monitor his head growth, but I didn't meant to buzz it! I was doing the sides and back a little shorter and he moved big time and I had no choice but to finish it then. Oh well... now we are good for awhile!!!

Josh is doing great too! He has had a couple sessions of therapy and we have learned some excersizes to work on with him and he is making progress. We are still having food issues with him, including finding out he may have an egg allergy as well. Life is never boring around here!

So now that we are back into the swing of things.... it's going to be a bad stormy week here, so we will be stuck home anyway. What's the luck of that happening? But I will keep you posted on things going on here and hopefully that doesn't mean more illness here.

It never ends!!!!

Well, I was hoping to have all the kids getting better by now... and we are going in the wrong direction!!!

I am happy to say that Josh is doing much better though. He is still on some meds, but is back to himself at least. He is eating better and sleeping again. Hallelujah!!!!

Jordan caught what we think is influenza now. I took him in this past monday and he had a double ear infection as well. Can you believe that all three kids have had a double ear infection since Christmas! It is getting ridiculous! So he is on meds now too, and at least through the fever part. He had a high fever for about 4 days. Now it's just the cold symptoms. And now Trevor came home from school wednesday not feeling well and started with the fever that night. So it looks like I am in it for the long haul. Again.

So, I guess I can count my blessings that Scott and I haven't caught it... or Josh as well. We have kept Josh pretty isolated since he is getting over RSV. I really can't wait for summer again. It seems like we go through this ever winter.... a month or 6 week solid stretch where someone is sick here. It sure makes a difference when you have kids in school. They bring home everything!

So that's what's going on here. I have been home for a long time now, which isn't all that bad with the snow and bitter cold we are having. I'll keep you updated on the kids.

Poor Josh!!!!

So I was looking through my camera and forgot I had taken these pictures last week of Josh and Scott sleeping on the couch. This was taken right before I took him into the Doctor the first time for his ear infection.
Now here it is a week later and we were back into the Doctor with Josh. He was getting worse and crying so much I knew something was really not right. Low and behold he has RSV. Lovely, isn't it? So it has been a rough week and we aren't done yet. Although we hope that he will turn the corner by tomorrow so we don't end up in the hospital or anything. He has lost over a pound in a week and his ears were worse as well. We also found the rash he had and the reason his ears didn't get any better is becuase he is allergic to Amoxicillin. So we are on a new antibiotic and breathing treatments. The breathing is every 4-6 hours depending on how crackly and raspy he sounds and if he is asleep or not. They do make a difference so I think we are going to be OK. I may or may not have to take him back in tomorrow to check his oxygen levels. We'll see how he does tonight. This poor baby has had everything wrong with him and there isn't anything I can do. It makes me feel so sad for him. He is doing remarkably well considering how sick he is. He is still a little playful and will get on the floor for short periods of time. I am still amazed at how easy going he is.
So I will be home all day for the next week at least. I will keep you updated on him and I hope to not have to send out an update that he is worse. We'll see how thing go this weekend.

It's been awhile!!

Well it has been awhile since I have been able to get a post done. Life is pretty crazy around the holidays anyway, but you add sick kids and it all goes by so fast!

Yes we had a good christmas... sick Jordan and all. He is finally better now, but Josh has it pretty bad now. I took him into the Dr two days ago to find he had a double ear infection that was pretty bad. His ears seem to be much better now, but his chest cold is going strong now.

We finally got Josh's therapy all worked out and started. He will have PT (Physical Therapy) twice a month and OT (Occupational Therapy) twice a month... so basically we will have someone here weekly to work with him. He has made a few improvements since his original evaluation, but does need some extra help still. He is finally rolling over and holding some toys. When I took him into the Dr last month for his 6 mos appt, he was 16lb 7 oz. I took him in this past week (exactly a month later) and he was 18lb 8oz! Can you believe it! He did have his clothes on the second time, but jeez!!! Talk about a big boy! He is soo tall, I am not sure what to do with him. My nephew Parker, who is turning a year this week, is the same size as him. He has grown out of all his clothes I thought would fit at least through the coldest part of the winter. He is now into 12mos and some 18 mos size stuff. And it's so weird since he really doesn't have much fat on him. He is just one solid kid.

We also recently had a IEP meeting to discuss and change Trevor's diagnosis as far as the school district is concerned. FINALLY we have his disability as Autism. It has taken a couple months to get there, with NUMEROUS rounds of testing as proof, but it's finally done. Thank goodness! Not that I like labels nessesarily, but we need the correct one so he can get the appropriate special education help he needs. He is doing amazing and we are so happy to be able to relax now.

Tomorrow is the first sunday of the year and is going to bring many changes for us. We have the yucky 1-4 church time now, and everyone has new classes. The boys will be in the same class again, Sunbeams. They have some cute teachers and it should be OK. One of them is a girl from nursery, so the boys' know her. The other one has been teaching older kids, but will be great with the little ones. I have been moved up to the 9 year olds, so I won't be with the boys anymore. Can we say excited!!???? I will have Josh every other week, but it will be nice to not have Trevor to deal with. I think he will be a challenge for the new class, but it will work out. He will get used to it and life will go on. And I will enjoy kids who actually sit in their seats!

I am so glad to be back into the swing of things and that school is back in session. Life has calmed down a lot since the holidays and I am glad. It was wonderful to spend time with our families and enjoy the holidays. Now we just need to survive the snow!
