One test down.......

Josh had his MRI today. It was supposed to be yesterday, but somewhere there was a miscommunication and he had an appt to be pre-registered yesterday. So today was the test. Scott was off today so it was better anyway, then we didn't have to have babysitters.

So it all went well, minus the wait. We arrived at 10:20, got checked in, paperwork done..ect, and was in our little waiting room in the Day Surgery area by 10:45. Since he had to be anestitized for the MRI, we had to wait on a Anesthesiologist to be free. They said that is not a problem. UNTIL TODAY!!! We waited in that little waiting room until 2:00!!!!!!! Needless to say.. it was a VERY long 3hours and 15minutes. Believe me. But Josh actually did very well, he was hungry and tired so I can't believe how good he was. He never really cried just whined a little here and there. When they finally took us back to the MRI department, he was even OK with some stranger taking him away. (I was more nervous than him, I think LOL!!) He was put out and they did his scan. It only took about 20 minutes or so. Then I followed him to recovery, which was something we didn't get to do when he had his ear tubes. It was kinda heartbreaking to see him with his eyes taped shut and tube down his throat and oxygen. (brought back memories from the NICU). I then went on to the Pediatric floor and he came to me when he was awake.. about 30 minutes later. He was sucking away on his binky and very calm. I was so glad he was OK. He had a rash from all the tape he had on, and they wanted to watch that for another half hour. He took a bottle since he was starving and then we came home. Phew... was that all?? We got home around 4pm. It was a very long day.

I am attaching two pictures of him with his lovely rash from the moniters on his chest. You can see that, but his eye rash was looking much better when we got home from puppy classes tonight (thanks Mom for tending!!) so at least he won't look like he has been in a fight. The first one also has the giraffe and turtle the wonderful hospital staff gave Josh to keep him entertained.

Once again I am so glad that today went well. I am so greatful for Josh's sweet personality and how patient he is. Not many kids would sit in a little room on mommy's lap for over 3 hours when they hadn't eaten in 17 hours and counting. I love this little boy for his sweet spirit. What a cutie!
